Discussions are rife about the future of three legends of Indian cricket—Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. All three players have already retired from T20 Internationals, and now it is being speculated that the Champions Trophy 2025 could be the last ICC tournament of their international career. Aakash Chopra believes that Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja may say goodbye to international cricket after the Champions Trophy. Discussing this in detail, he said that the next big ICC event is the World Test Championship (WTC) final, but India is not in a position to reach there. This will be followed by the T20 World Cup in 2026 and then the ODI World Cup in 2027, but all three have already retired from T20I.  In such a situation, playing till the ODI World Cup can be a long journey for them.

Aakash Chopra also said that the decision of retirement does not depend only on fitness or performance, but it also has to be seen whether the team needs them or not. Kohli and Jadeja are among the fittest players of the Indian team and can play for a few more years, but if there is a need to open the way for young players, then the team management can look at new options.
